PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently perform separation of transfer material from an intermediate transfer material surface, after transferring a toner image. SOLUTION: As for this image forming device, when assuming the surface resistance of a transfer belt 8 forming a transfer nip T2 by the intermediate transfer body 7 being held in contact therewith as ρbelt, and the surface resistance of the image carrier as ρint, the relation of ρbelt >= ρint is valid between these. By applying the transfer bias on the transfer belt 8, the toner image on the intermediate transfer body 7 is transferred on the transfer material P being fed to the transfer nip T2 through the transfer nip T2, and then the transfer material P after transferring the toner image is electrostatically transferred on the transfer belt 8 surface. In such a manner, the transfer material P after the toner image is transferred thereon at the transfer nip T2 is prevented from being attracted on the intermediate transfer body 7 surface, and allowed to excellently stick onto the transfer belt 7, and then the excellent separation is realized. |
