PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a projection lens by which asymmetric color deviation is made inconspicuous right and left on a screen surface and excellent observation is realized by compensating the aberration of the projection lens so that respective chromatic aberration of magnification R light and B light to G light becomes the same sign value together. SOLUTION: A 1st group L1 is constituted of two negative meniscus lenses whose convex surface faces to a screen side and a 2nd group L2 is constituted of a negative meniscus lens similar to the 1st group L1, a positive lens or the like whose convex surface faces to a liquid crystal display element side. Further, a 3rd group L3 is constituted of a positive lens whose both lens surfaces are convex and a negative meniscus lens whose convex surface faces to the liquid crystal display element side. Then, when red(R), green(G) and blue(B) pixels irradiated with illuminating light having a different incident angle corresponding to the respective pixels arrayed on the liquid crystal display element on a single plate are projected and displayed on a screen, the respective chromatic aberration of magnification the R light and the B light to the G light of the projection lens is compensated so as to be the same sign value.
