PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive speaker of a slim and thin and long shape applicable to video and audio devices that withstands a high input and is capable of reproducing a deep low frequency sound. SOLUTION: This speaker is provided with a magnetic circuit 24 that has at least a magnetic gap, a shield cover 32 with an opening 32a to which the magnetic circuit 24 is inserted, a voice coil 29 that is fitted to the magnetic gap of the magnetic circuit 24, and a damper base 32b whose inner circumference is coupled with the voice coil 28 and whose outer circumference is formed by extending an end of the opening 32a of the shield cover 32. Thus, the speaker is in use without employing a damper base with a large damper as a separate component, the small size and slim shape are maintained, the design withstanding a high input and reproducing a deep low frequency sound is attained while reducing the cost increase and the performance is enhanced.
