PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit a desired digital signal (multimedia signal) from a place or a spot where a millimeter wave and a sub-millimeter wave signal cannot be transmitted by transmitting a weak synchronous multi-carrier signal from environment (place, spot) where the millimeter wave and the sub-millimeter wave signal cannot be transmitted as it is concerning the contents of a digital signal desired to transmit and re- transmitting it from a spot where the millimeter wave and the sub-millimeter wave signal can be transmitted. SOLUTION: This synchronizing multi-carrier transmitter 10 in a house generates digital data, which should be transmitted, to be a synchronous multi-carrier signal and transmits it by a VHF band or a UHF band and by weak radio waves to a synchronizing multi-carrier receiver 20 in the house. Digital data decoded by the receiver 20 is transmitted by a millimeter wave band or a sub-millimeter wave band from a transmission antenna 33 through a single carrier modulator 31 and a frequency converter 32. Thus, the signal of the millimeter wave or the sub-millimeter wave can be transmitted substantially from the transmitter 10 existing in a room in the shade of radio waves. In addition, the receiver 20 is capable of decoding by product sum adding processing.
