PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the operator's operation when before-conversion information data as a set of pieces of character data are converted into >=2 pieces of two-dimensional code data. SOLUTION: The before-conversion information data are divided and converted into two-dimensional code data by the pieces of before-conversion information data. It is decided (S18) whether or not the code symbol of a two-dimensional code represented by the two-dimensional code data is larger than a set maximum value and when so, the number of divisions is increased (S19). Then the before-conversion information data is divided by the increased number of divisions and similar implementation is repeated. Thus, the before-conversion information data is automatically divided, so as operator needs not divide it and the operation at the time of the two-dimensional code data conversion is easily performed. Further, the data are converted so that the code symbol does not exceed the set maximum value, so the two-dimensional code is printed effectively on an output medium whose width direction of a tape is limited. |
