PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide magnet materials and a bonded magnet, in which rolled face defects can be suppressed and magnetic characteristics can be made superior. SOLUTION: Magnet materials are put into a cylindrical body 2 of a quenching thin band manufacturing device 1, and heated and melted by a coil 4, and the melt 6 is ejected from a nozzle 3. The melt 6 is allowed to collide with a peripheral face 53 of a cooling roll 5 which is rotating in the A-direction so that a paddle 7 can be formed, and the melt 6 is cooled rapidly and coagulated, while being dragged along the peripheral face 53 so that a quenched thin film 8 can be formed. The quenched thin band 8 is detached from the peripheral face 53, and advanced in the B-direction. When the pressure of the flow of the melt ejected from the nozzle 3 is set as P1 [Pa] and the pressure of the gas flow of atmospheric gas generated due to the rotation of the cooling roll 5 in the neighborhood of the peripheral face 53 is set as P2 [Pa], the quenched thin band 8 is manufactured such that 0.1<=P1/P2<=5.0 is satisfied. |
