HANDLING SYSTEM FOR INTERNET TRAFFIC IN ASYNCHRONOUS TRANSFER MODE ATM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To configurate the system that realizes CoS warrant even in an ATM network so as to conduct Internet traffic control. SOLUTION: A VC mapping device 301 decides a VC depending on a kind of a connected interface or the like in the case that a type of an IP packet service category is a band warrant type. In the case that the type of the service category of the IP packet indicates the best effort type, a CoS monitor 302 decides a CoS attribute denoting transmission or abort of the IP packet based on field information or IP address information denoting transmission abort priority. A CLAD device 303 converts the IP packet into an ATM cell to set the CoS attribute to the ATM cell. A cell switching device switches the ATM cell according to the CoS attribute. The CoS control of an Internet traffic is conducted in the unit of ATM cells based on the CoS attribute.
