摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the contrast of an image to be displayed. SOLUTION: This liq. crystal device 80 is provided with plural pixels, which are arranged in matrix and have an apertures for a light passage, and a micro- lens array 830, which is provided with plural micro-lenses 830M arranged in matrix, divides an illuminating light into plural partial luminous fluxes, converges them and makes them incident on the incident surfaces of the plural pixels. As for each of the micro-lens 830M of the micro-lens array 830, the center of each lens 830M is positioned to be displaced from the center axis of each pixel so that, in a light the rate of the light almost parallel to a distinct vision direction out of the light emitted from the aperture of each pixel is to be larger than that of light parallel to other directions. The center position of each micro-lens 830M is preferable to be set so that the line connecting the center of each micro-lens 830M and the center of incident surface of each corresponding pixel is made almost parallel to the distinct vision direction.
