<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the frequent occurrence of erroneous retransmission and fallbacks for performing facsimile communication efficiently. SOLUTION: After communication is ended, based on a final communication speed in communication, the number of times of the erroneous retransmissions at final communication speed and communication channel quality, a CPU 1 decides the upper limit of a communication speed to be used at communication next time to the final communication speed or the communication speed by one ranking slower than that. Then, the CPU 1 registers the decided communication speed upper limit, corresponding to an exchange number in a telephone number provided by the communication party of the communication immediately prior before. At starting of communication, when the communication speed upper limit is registered corresponding to the exchange number in the telephone number provided by the communicating party, the CPU 1 will use a communication speed slower than the communication speed upper limit from the beginning, by either informing the opposite party of the communication speed being slower than the communication speed upper limit as a use permission speed or selecting a using communication speed from the communication speed which is slower than the communication speed upper limit.</p> |
