PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make operability excellent when the various kinds of set operation of a stroboscope device are executed at a dark place by automatically turning on/off the illumination of a stroboscope liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: This stroboscope device is constituted of a camera main body 1, an interchangeable lens 2 and the stroboscope 3. Then, a light receiving element 306 is used also as a steady light detection means for detecting the quantity of steady light in addition to a light receiving means receiving the light of a wireless control signal from the main body 1 or the other stroboscope having a wireless function. When it is used as the steady light detection means, the illumination of the stroboscope liquid crystal display device 3 is executed by automatically turning on/off an illumination device 312 according to the detected result of the quantity of the steady light.
