PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetically recording and reproducing device for a photographic film capable of performing magnetically recording and reproducing well on a magnetic track inside a film image plane area without damaging inside the image plane of the photographic film. SOLUTION: As to the magnetically recording and reproducing device for the photographic film 2 having at least one or more magnetic heads 1 abutting on the magnetic track 4 of the photographic film 2 having the plural magnetic tracks 4 and performing at least either the recording or the reproducing of magnetic information; the head 1 has the plural tracks, the length in a width direction is equal to or more than the width of the image plane of the film in the width direction, a supporting member for making the head 1 brought into close-contact with the film 2 is provided on a side opposed to the head 1, and the length of the supporting member in the width direction is equal to or more than the width of the image plane of the film in the width direction.
