PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the service life of an electrical contactor by decreasing the rate of temperature rise at a contact. SOLUTION: A rivet type contact 2 has a head 2a with a diameter of, e.g. 5 mm, and a leg part 2b with a diameter of 3 mm is projected from the center of the head 2a. A base material 1 is in the form of a strip that is, e.g. 1.5 mm thick, 5 mm wide, and 30 mm long, with a contact mounting hole 10 bored therethrough. The contact mounting hole 10 as viewed on a plane is shaped like, e.g. eight isosceles triangles, each having an apex angle of 90 degrees and a height of 0.2 mm and projected from a circle having a diameter of 3.5 mm toward the center of the circle. When the leg part 2b of the rivet type contact 2 is inserted into the contact mounting hole 10 in the base material 1, clearance that is about 0.25 mm at a maximum and 0.05 mm at a minimum forms between the leg part 2b and the contact mounting hole 10, but since the leg 2b is crushed and widened due to crimping and enters into the clearance, the leg part 2b and the contact mounting hole 10 are held in close contact to each other with no clearance therebetween.
