摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quantitatively measure the contaminated particles in lubricating oil in a real time and qualitatively analyze the contaminated particles in the lubricating oil by preventing the characteristics of a light emitting means and a light receiving means from being changed by a temperature change of an oil sample. SOLUTION: When oil is sufficiently circulated, a circulating pump 11 is stopped, and a vacuum pump 12 is operated to remove the air bubbles contained in the oil. After the bubbles in the oil are perfectly removed, the vacuum pump 12 is stopped, the atmosphere is returned to the atmospheric condition to measure the optical density J2 of the using oil. A valve is then opened and closed to discharge the sample oil in a measuring sensor part. The total contamination degree contained in the oil and the contamination concentration of normally magnetic body and non-magnetic body are determined by calculation from the measured optical density J2 of the using oil and the optical density J3 when a magnetic field is added after 60 seconds, and the optical density J4 after removal of the magnetic field, and the contamination concentration of particles is determined by use of these calculated values. According to this, is can be effectively grasped that which part of the mechanical element within a system is seriously worn.
