PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a yoke type information reproducing head device having a structure capable of making a characteristic as the permeable path of an end yoke and a characteristic as the conductive path of a lower electrode compatible. SOLUTION: The yoke type information reproducing head device 10 is structured such that a magnetic sensor 3 is provided on a substrate 1 through a nonmagnetic insulating layer 2, that a yoke 4 is connected to the magnetic sensor 3, and that the magnetic sensor 3 is so constructed as a ferromagnetic tunnel junction element 5 is held between an upper and a lower electrode 6, 7. In this case, it is constituted of the tip end yoke 4-1 which is provided in the direction of the side of the position where a medium exists against the tunnel junction element 5, and the rear end yoke 4-2 which is provided in the direction of the opposite side from the position where the medium 53 exists likewise; also, at least a part of the tip end yoke 4-1 and at least a part of the lower magnetic pole 7 are positioned on the face opposite to each other against the tunnel junction element 5.
