PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the alignment of the beam spot string between semiconductor laser arrays freely regulatable and to make it possible to easily and surely execute this regulation with a system using two pieces of the semiconductor laser arrays. SOLUTION: The first and second semiconductor laser arrays 11, 12 having a plurality of light emitting points on respective straight lines are integrally held together with first and second collimator lenses 13, 14 respectively making a pair and are provided with a supporting member 15 to be arranged on exit axes (a1, a2) parted at a prescribed angle respectively in a main scanning direction, This supporting member 15 is held by a holder member 19 which is freely turnable and regulatable around the optical axis C of the scanning optical system as the center of turning. The regulation of the sub-scanning relative positions between the beam spot arrays by the respective light emitting points of the first and second semiconductor lease arrays 11, 12 is thus made possible by the simple work merely involving the turning regulation of the holder member 19 around the optical axis C of the scanning optical system as the center of turning.
