PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system where a sufficient standby time is secured without increasing power consumption in the case that a slave station makes intermittent reception in the radio communication system where a master station and the slave station use a control channel to send/receive control information. SOLUTION: When timing for starting reception comes during intermittent reception of a slave station for radio communication, a reception operation is started to a control channel (step S1), and when no carrier is detected (step S2; NO), no reception is conducted (step S3), and when any carrier is detected (step S2; YES), whether data are addressed to its own station or to other station is discriminated (steps S4, S5). When it is discriminated that the data are addressed to its own station, communication with the master station is started (step S5), and when no discrimination is made, similar processing is repeated till the reception consecutive time elapses (step S7) and when the reception consecutive time elapses, the reception is cancelled (step S3). |
