BINDER RESIN FOR TONER AND TONER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder resin for a toner and a toner having excellent balance in fixing property and non-offset property, good stability of image density, and blocking resistance. SOLUTION: This binder resin consists of a vinyl polymer having <=0.5 wt.% THF(tetrahydrofuran)-insoluble component. The mol.wt. distribution measured by GPC(gel permeation chromatography) of the THF-soluble component shows at least one peak in the region from 2×103 to 1.2×104 mol.wt., at least one peak in the region from 1×105 to 1×106 mol.wt., and at least one peak or shoulder in the region over 1×106, and has 50 to 70 deg.C glass transition temp.
