PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the heuristic provisioning method for a still set of a connec tion on a WDM optical network topology. SOLUTION: The network has a plurality of interconnected nodes and each node has any switch function. For example, each node has a wavelength selecting cross connect(WSXC) that contains one input fiber or over through which a signal with a plurality of wavelength bands is transmitted and outputs an output signal with a corresponding wavelength to an output fiber. A restoration solution calculated in advance is generated in advance to serve a reaction of the network against some types of faults. Then on the occurrence of each fault, a prescribed re-configuration option is adopted. A heuristic solution of each illustrated type includes part or all re-configurations simultaneously in a way of coordination. Thus, the design is more improved than a method where a configuration is independently generated against respective faults. |
