PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent data from being invalidated even when there is an instantaneous interruption of a power source, to eliminate frequent access to the specified part of a nonvolatile memory and the prolong the service life of the nonvolatile memory. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a main power source 1 and an auxiliary power source 3 charged by the output of the main power source 1. In the case of detecting the decline under the fixed level of the main power source 1 in a voltage detection means 4 for monitoring the voltage of the main power source 1, a power source changeover means 6 is controlled in a microcomputer 5 and a supply power source is switched from the output of the main power source 1 to the output of the auxiliary power source 3. The nonvolatile memory 7 is provided with the table of management information composed of the start address information of a file and free area information and the table same as the table is constituted on the RAM of the microcomputer 5. The management information is written/read only to the table on the RAM at the time of a normal operation and written to the nonvolatile memory 7 only at the time of voltage reduction detection by the voltage detection means 4.
