PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm information concerning the first mode of an output device before the change of an information processor into first mode and to confirm whether the connected output device can be changed into first mode or not before the change of the information processor into first mode. SOLUTION: An information processor 1 and an output device 15 connected to the information processor 1 are provided and before changing into first mode (IEEE1284.4), the information processor 1 acquires information 1284.4 (JOB=0x20, ADMIN=0x20)} on the first mode from the output device 15 while using an instruction (device ID request) specified to a second mode (IEEE1284).
