PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera equipped with a barrier equipped with a rail mechanism having compact and simple structure with which opening/closing operation can be smoothly performed by single operation even by a user who uses the camera for the first time. SOLUTION: This camera is equipped with the barrier 30 capable of moving to a position where it is retreated from the front surface of a photographing lens and a position where it is moved in an optical axis direction and a plane direction perpendicular to an optical axis with respect to the retreat position and covers over the photographing lens, and is equipped with a 1st sliding projecting part (short-length pins: 33 and 34) provided in the barrier 30 in order to move the barrier 30, a 2nd sliding projecting part (long-length pins: 31 and 32) provided in order to move the barrier 30 and having projecting parts relatively longer than the projecting parts 33 and 34, 1st can means 15b, 15c and 15d provided on a camera main body side in order to move the barrier 30 and slidably engaged with the projecting parts 33, 34, 31 and 32, and a 2nd cam means 15a which is branched from the means 15b, 15c and 15d and with which only the 1st sliding projecting part is slidably engaged.
