PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exposure device, capable of forming gaps in black non-emissive layers taking the form of a black matrix and three-color phosphor layers into circular shapes approximating a true circle, even if exposure is carried out using a straight-tube shaped light source. SOLUTION: A drive 33 comprises a pair of gears 43 placed coaxially with each disc-shaped retaining plate 39 which is outside a lighthouse 31, a pair of gears 44 meshing with the gears 43, and a drive motor 45 rotating each disc-shaped retaining plate 39 at a certain speed via the gears 43, 44. Each disc-shaped retaining plate 39 is driven by the drive motor 45 to rotate with its axis 40 serving as the axis of rotation, this rotation causing a light source 32 to turn about the axis of rotation of each disc-shaped retaining plate 39.
