PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve device which can always maintain satisfactory sealability. SOLUTION: A valve device for shutting off the communication of fluid, comprises a valve housing 21 formed therein with a pair of openings 25, 26 through which fluid flows into and out, and formed with a valve seat 27 around the openings 25, 26, a valve element 40 incorporating a block part 41 which can close the openings 25, 26 so as to shut off the flow of the fluid, and a communicating part formed to be opened having a predetermined bore diameter so as to be communicated with the openings 25, 26, seal members 43, 46 formed respectively in the blocking part 41 and the communicating part 42 and adapted to abut against the valve seat 27 so as to seal the openings 25, 26 when it is positioned at the openings 25, 26, and a drive mechanism 30 for rotating the valve element 41 so as to cause the seal members 43, 46 abut against the same positions of the valve seat 27 around the openings, respectively.
