PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dense wavelength division multiplexer (DWDM) which lowers the insertion loss at the time of sepn. of optical channels by separating one or >=2 the plural optical channels from light signals by using a plurality of separators at least partially arrayed in a multistage parallel cascade form. SOLUTION: The light signal including the channelλ1 toλn enters the DWDM 500 thorough a node A240. The separator 510A divides this signal into two separated signals, one of which includes the odd channel 530 and the other includes the even channel 540. Namely, the signals respectively include the every other channels. These odd and even channels 530, 540 are respectively passed through another one separator 510B, 510C and are further separated into the every other channels. The division is continued until the just one channel is outputted to respective optical fibers 250-1 to 250-n. This form decreases the number of the component elements through which the light signals are ought to pass and, therefore, the quantity of the insertion loss is decreased. |
