FLOW SPLITTER FOR GRAVITY SETTLING TYPE PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION MEASURING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an injection process of a suspension of various kinds of powders and gains, such as fly ash, Kanto loam, silica sand or the like, from exerting an influence on a measurement result thereof. SOLUTION: This flow splitter is formed by installing a built-in pipe 5" in a discharge pipe 5 in order to inject a suspension 0 from the discharge pipe 5 into a sedimentation cylinder 3 hung in a sedimentation tank 4 and the sedimentation tank 4 separately. The flow splitter is composed of one pipe line equipped with an inflow opening 8 and a discharge opening 6 on the end of a branched pipe 5', and of the other pipe line equipped with an inflow opening 9 on one end of the built-in pipe 5" and a discharge opening 7 on the other end. The ratio of a cross-sectional area of the inflow opening 8 of the one pipe line of the flow splitter to a cross-sectional area of the inflow opening 9 of the other pipe line is made to correspond to the capacity ratio of a capacity in the sedimentation cylinder 3 to a full capacity in the sedimentation tank 4 excluding a volume of the sedimentation cylinder 3 in case that the suspension 0 is injected fully into these capacities.
