A pneumatic tyre, comprising a carcass 2 including beads 1, and a tread portion 5, is characterized by a substantially cylindrical metal reinforcement 6 embedded in the tread rubber, said reinforcement being formed by a plurality of coaxial rings or at least one helically coiled spring and having sufficient mechanical resistance, in combination with the carcass, to support the normal load exerted on the inflated tyre when the tyre is punctured. The beads 1 of the tyre are gripped between axially outer flanges 3 of a rim 7 and a flanged spacing ring 4. |
