PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-color image forming device by which a multi-color image whose quality is enhanced more is obtained by executing image superimposing control by accurately detecting deviation in a position actually caused to the multi-color image. SOLUTION: This multi-color image forming device possesses plural image forming parts forming images whose colors are mutually different, and obtains the multi-color image on an image carrier by superimposing the image of each color formed by the image forming part, and is provided with a reference pattern generating means making each image forming part respectively form a reference pattern, a detecting means detecting the deviation in the position by measuring the reference pattern and a controlling means controlling each image forming part so as not to cause the deviation in the position at the image superimposed based on the deviation in the position of each reference pattern detected. In this case, the reference pattern is respectively formed at each image forming part so that each reference pattern is superimposed on the image carrier, and also the deviation in the position of each reference pattern is detected by measuring the reference pattern superimposed on the image carrier by the reference pattern generating means. |
