COLOR FILTER FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide color filters for a liquid crystal display device having improved productivity by forming projecting parts having a spacer function without increasing stages. SOLUTION: The color filters 1 for the liquid crystal display device having a color filter layer 3 and a lightproof part layer 4 on a transparent substrate 2 is provided with columnar parts 5 having the spacer function in the discrete positions on the lightproof part layer 4. The process for production simultaneously forms the columnar parts 5 having the spacer functions in the discrete positions on the light shielding layer by using a halftone mask at the time of forming the lightproof part layer 4.
