<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording/reproducing device capable of keeping the long life by suppressing the deterioration of a light emitting material used for detecting the inserting position of a video cassette or detecting the leader and termination of the tape. SOLUTION: In the case the magnetic recording/reproducing device is constituted so that the leader of the cassette tape 10 is detected when the light emitted from a light emitting element 2 disposed on a main body of the device is received by one side 3 of light receiving elements and the termination is detected when the emitted light is received by another one 4 of the light receiving elements, a cassette detecting means 7 for outputting a detected signal when the cassette tape 10 is held by a cassette holder 16 to start the movement and a control means 5 for turning on the light emitting element 2 when the detected signal is sent out from this cassette detecting means 7, are provided for this device.</p> |
