PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for monitoring tire pneumatic pressure. SOLUTION: The tire pressure monitoring system 10 comprises four sensor transducers 14a-d fixed respectively to the inside or outside of corresponding tires 16a-d, and four receivers 20a-d fixed respectively to a drive train 12 through a bracket at a distance of several cm from the inner edge of corresponding tires. Pneumatic pressure in each tire 16a-d is monitored continuously during operation of a vehicle through magnetic coupling generated between the arrays of transducers 14a-d and receivers 20a-d during each revolution of the tires 16a-d between the sensor transducer 14a-d and the corresponding receiver 20a-d.
