PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a refrigerant amount used for a refrigerator by using pro pane or the like as refrigerant, and using halogen-containing oil having small mutual solubility with refrigerant as refrigerant machine oil, thereby suppressing a decomposition of the oil caused by water absorption. SOLUTION: A compressor 1, a four-way valve 2, an indoor heat exchanger 3, a throttle unit 4, and an outdoor heat exchanger 6 are annularly connected via pipings. A dryer 5 for absorbing moisture is provided at liquid side piping between the exchanger 3 and the exchanger 5. The dryer 5 can stably trap the free moisture existing in a refrigerating cycle and prevent a deterioration of refrigerating machine oil. As the refrigerant used for such a cycle, propane or isobutane is used. As the oil in the compressor 1, a halogen-containing oil having small mutual solubility with the refrigerant is used. Accordingly, the refrigerator having small refrigerant sealing amount, high safety and capable of guaranteeing a long term system reliability is obtained.
