PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation detecting mechanism capable of accurately detecting the operation state of a movable member such as the shutter blade of a shutter device. SOLUTION: This mechanism is equipped with a photointerrupter 7 provided with a light emitting part 71 and a light receiving part 72 receiving light from the light emitting part 71, and a fixed diaphragm 5 arranged between the light emitting part 71 and the light receiving part 72 and provided with a slot 56 restricting luminous flux made incident on the light receiving part 72, and the operation state of the movable member is detected based on an output signal from the photointerrupter 7 when a 1st sector 1 makes the light passing through the slot 56 of the fixed diaphragm 5 in a transmitted state or a lightproof state.
