An endless-chain haymaking machine comprises two endless chains 4 running around two pairs of discs 5, 5<SP>1</SP>, the chains being interconnected by tine-carrying bars 12, there being a cam 22 which is located at the end of the lower horizontal run of the chains 4 for the purpose of contacting the tine-bars and causing an acceleration of the tips of the tines 13, means being provided for returning the tines to their original positions after they have passed the cam. As shown, the tine-bars 12 are carried by sleeves 11 rotatable on spindles interconnecting the chains 4, the sleeves having integral arms 15 projecting upwardly, the upper end of each arm 15 being connected by a spring-loaded telescopic link 14 to the sleeves of the adjacent tinebar. The upper end of each arm contacts the cam in turn and this causes the tip 13<SP>1</SP> to be kicked through an angle α, the angle being adjustable by moving the cam 22, through a hand-lever 25. In a modification (Figs. 3-5, not shown) cams are mounted on an eccentric parallel to, but not co-axial with,the discs 5, the eccentricity being adjustable. In this arrangement, the kicking action is less pronounced, and is more accurately adjustable. |
