The invention concerns a press brake for bending metal sheets comprising a mobile upper table (1) and a fixed lower table (2), the lower table consisting of a plate including a top part (22) and a bottom part (21) delimited by two slits (3a, 3b) symmetrically identical with respect to said lower table median transverse plane, each slit comprising an upper wall (31a, 31b) and a lower wall (32a, 32b) linked by a base and an aperture located at the plate corresponding side edges. The invention is characterised in that each slit (3a, 3b) is provided with a moving member (6a, 6b) linking the lower table mobile upper part (22) and fixed lower part (21) to bring the slit upper wall closer towards its lower wall, thereby modifying in controlled manner the deformation bending of said lower table mobile upper part.
