FIELD: leather industry. SUBSTANCE: mixture of fish oil with vegetable oils or fatty acid methyl esters from the latter are sulfonated at 30-35 C with concentrated sulfuric acid at ratio from 9:1 to 1:1, respectively. Unreacted sulfuric acid is neutralized with 10% sodium hydroxide solution in presence of 3% of sodium chloride. Sulfonation mass is settled and acidic water is decanted. Resultant sulfoesters are neutralized with 20% sodium hydroxide solution until medium pH 7-7.5 is reached. EFFECT: improved quality of oiling composition and leather oiling conditions due to more uniformly spreading oil over leather thickness, improved taking off oil from oiling bath, reduced oiling material losses, and alleviated waste water treatment problems. 2 cl, 1 tbl, 2 ex
