The drive roller for a conveyor belt (4) has flanged ends (6) with spacers (7,8) between them and the frame (2) of the conveyor. If the belt slides sideways it comes into contact with one of the flanges and experiences a force moving it in the direction of movement of the belt. The mounting (12) for the roller axle (3) contains a slide (11) which moves the axle back to its original position after this force has ceased to act. |
