A fitting (1) attached to one end of the shelf (31) comprises a plate-shaped base section (3) and a plate-shaped support section (5) joined to the base section at an angle. The base section is at least partially received by a groove in the shelf end wall. Fastener sections (11, 13) protruding from the base section are driven into the shelf. An Independent claim is also included for the end fitting.
