An actuator (2) containing the following components: at least one magnet (4a, 4b) with a predetermined direction of magnetization, an electro-conductive coil (6) with a longitudinal axis that is oriented in a substantially vertical position with respect to the direction of magnetization of said magnet (4a, 4b) and which can be operated by an electric current, whereby the coil (6) is arranged in an offset position near to the magnet (4a, 4b) in the direction of magnetization of the magnet (4a, 4b) so that an air gap (8) remains between the coil (6) and the magnet (4a, 4b) and the magnet (4a, 4b) protrudes above the ends of the coil (6) when seen in a longitudinal direction of said coil (6), a ferromagnetic highly permeable core (10) around which the core (6) is wound and which, when seen from a longitudinal direction of the coil (6) terminates above and below the coil (6) in collar-shaped projections (12a, 12b) made from a highly permeable fermomagnetic material.The magnet (4a, 4b) is embedded in a highly permeable ferromagnetic jacket (14) that at least partially covers at least the surface (16) of the magnet (4a, 4b) that faces away from the coil (6) in addition to the upper (18) and lower (20) surfaces of the magnet, when seen in a longitudinal direction of the coil. The embedded magnet (4a, 4b) is statically mounted and the coil (6), including the core (10), is spring mounted, whereby the coil (6), together with the core, (10) can oscillate in a longitudinal direction of said coil or the coil, together with the core (10), is statically mounted and the embedded magnet (4a, 4b) is spring mounted in such a way that it can oscillate in a longitudinal direction of the coil.
