The dishwasher has a rotatable spray arm (9,10) to which rinsing liquid is delivered and from which the liquid can be output, an arrangement for feeding liquid depending on the rotary position of the arms and a device for determining the liquid delivered and/or output. The quantity of liquid delivered changes between a larger and a smaller value at least once per revolution. An Independent claim is also included for a method of detecting rotation of the rotary spray arm.
