LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND METHOD OF DRIVING THE SAME

A liquid crystal display comprising anti-ferroelectric liquid crystal display elements or ferroelectric liquid crystal display elements, and a light source that can emit lights of different colors continuously, wherein the light source has an arbitrary duration in which it stops emitting light when a color is changed, and, in this duration, a resetting period is provided during which the anti-ferroelectric liquid crystal or ferroelectric liquid crystal for all pixels is reset to a preset state. This period may be provided at the initial part of the period when the light of one color is emitted or at the last part of that period.
