A device which is mounted on a filter attachment for predrying tipping paper and is provided with an infrared lamp unit (16) installed midway on a tipping paper (P) conveying path, wherein the tipping paper has its one surface coated with a paste at a pasting section (2), has the paste-coated surface irradiated with an infrared ray by the infrared lamp unit and is predried without contact with a heat source before it is cut into individual tipping paper pieces at a cutting section (4).
