The invention relates to an energy guide chain for guiding lines between a stationary and a moveable connection. The inventive energy guide chain comprises plastic chain links which are connected to one another in an articulated manner. Said chain links respectively delimit a channel section which extends in a direction of the energy guide chain. Each chain link comprises interspaced, opposing link plates which extend in a longitudinal direction of the energy guide chain. The link plates are connected to one another by at least one cross-piece. Each link plate comprises a joint body (6) and a joint receiver (7) which run essentially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the energy guide chain. The joint body (6) of a link plate engages inside the joint receiver (7) of an adjacent link plate. A clearance is provided between the partially overlapping link plates of two adjacent chain links. The joint body (6) comprises two diametrically opposing outer lining areas (18). The joint receiver (7) has two diametrically opposing inner lining areas (19). The outer lining areas (18) and the inner lining areas (19) lie against one another. The design of the energy guide chain enables the chain links to be laterally diverted.
