A ribbon-cable connector (1) has a first ribbon-cable (3) contacted in a housing (2) using a number of insulation piercing contact elements (5a), as well as a second ribbon-cable (4) which forms a branch, and is contacted by second insulation piercing elements (5b), both sets of contact elements (5a,5b) being electrically connected to one another. The ribbon-cables (3,4) have a number of conductors or lines (3,4) and are part of a bus-system.
