A device for generating a one-phase alternating high voltage to a one-phase alternating high voltage network (2) comprises a high voltage generator (5) adapted to generate an alternating voltage having at least three phases and a cylcoconverter (9) connected to the output of the generator and adapted to convert the multi-phase voltage into a one-phase alternating high voltage for said network.
