The mechanism includes a latch arrangement activated through adjustment of the comfort element (1), having at least one latch body (9) engaging in at least one latch profile (1EP, 2EP), in which it is held by spring force. The latch body is released from the profile by using at least one lift profile (1AP, 2AP, 3AP) for producing a position releasing the movement of the comfort element. The latch body is movable through pivoting the comfort element within a path comprising at least two walls (13, 14a, 14b). Each of the walls comprises at least one latch profile and at least one lift profile, respectively.
