Method for transferring hardly volatile compound(s) (I) into detection apparatus comprises (a) transferring compound(s) into the gas phase; (b) passing them into a carrier gas stream at higher temperature; (c) quenching in a cooler zone and simultaneous contact with a cooler liquid or gaseous medium; and (d) transporting the cooled carrier gas stream with residual (I) into detection apparatus. An Independent claim is also included for the apparatus used.
