PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidery data processor with which visibility can be improved by performing the color display processing of embroidery patterns after identifying partial embroidery patterns and various kinds of auxiliary information while using a recording medium recording the binary display data of embroidery patterns. SOLUTION: In this embroidery data processor, in the case of displaying an embroidery pattern confirmation picture for displaying one selected embroidery pattern, after initial setting (step S21), partial binary display data are read out (step S22) and separated into partial pattern data, thread color name data as auxiliary information and sewing order data (step S23), the thread color of the partial pattern is discriminated based on the thread color name data (step S24), and conversion to color display data corresponding to the thread color is processed (step S25). While using the said separated data, a sewing order, partial pattern and thread color name are displayed (step S26), further, the color display data are synthesized according to the sewing order (step S27), and similar processing is repeated concerning all the thread colors (steps S28 and S29). Thus, a user can visually confirm a lot of embroidery patterns to be displayed in color and can easily select the desired embroidery pattern to be sewn.
