PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain smooth movement of a pressure receiving member without making the pressure receiving member bite a pad when backward load from an occupant is applied to the pressure receiving member, and to ensure the operation amount of the head rest. SOLUTION: This seat back consists of a seat back frame 2, a supporting member 7 supported so as to rotate fore and aft and move vertically by the upper end part of the seat back frame 2, a head rest 3 supported by the upper end part of the supporting means 7, a pressure receiving member 4 which is supported by the lower end part of the supporting means 7 and is capable of receiving the pressure of the back of an occupant, and a pad 32 disposed on the front side FR of the pressure receiving member 4. A sliding means 38 which has appropriate hardness for the receiving pressure member 4 to slide easily is disposed at the underside of the pad 32.
