<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed control device, for a vehicle, for controlling a speed reduction of the vehicle, as the occasion needs, in order that the vehicle can suitably pass a guided crossing. SOLUTION: A path angleθat a crossing 101 and a distance L from a vehicle position 105 to the guided crossing 101 is transmitted from a navigation device to an engine/AT control computer and a brake control computer. The path angleθand a target vehicular speed according to the path angleθat the crossing 101 are stored in advance. When the path angleθat the crossing 101 is received by the computers, the target vehicle speed at the crossing 101 is calculated. A starting timing to start controlling a speed reduction is determined on the length of a distance between the vehicular position and the crossing 101, based on a current vehicular speed and the target vehicular speed at the crossing 101. Depending on the starting timing, a hydraulic control of a brake, a transmission control and a fuel injection amount control are executed to automatically reduce the speed of the vehicle.</p> |
