PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the resistances to scratch, peeling by impact, and weathering of a coating film formed on a metal golf club head by coating the surface of the head with a powder coating material based on an acrylic resin or a polyester resin. SOLUTION: The surface of a metal golf club head 40 is coated with an acrylic resin powder coating material contg. 10-60 pts.wt. acrylic resin having an average mol.wt. of 2,000-15,000 and a glass transition temp. of 55 deg.C or lower or with a polyester resin powder coating material having a softening point of 80-110 deg.C and an acid value of 50-150 mgKOH/g or with a urethane resin coating material in a coating wt. of 50-100 g/m2 to form a prime-coating layer with a thickness of 20-40μm. Then, an acrylic resin powder coating material or a polyester resin powder coating material is applied to the prime-coating layer in a coating wt. of 20-100 g/m2 to form a topcoating layer with a thickness of 20-40μm. Thus is obtd. a golf club head from which, even when repeatedly used for striking a golf ball over a long term, the coating film is not worn or peeled away and which is resistant to scratch even when the sole surface is rubbed with turf or the ground.
